Great homage to ‘Day for Night’ (La Nuit Americaine) by Truffaut. I watched this ad before the movie, and upon finishing the film I came back to see this. The music, the gun choosing, and in general the whole idea of the camera travelling through a film set with the director keeping calm in the chaos is straight from the film. Perfect.

I can’t help but feel Wes Anderson always puts style before substance. But maybe there is substance in his movies (most of which I like) that I’m just failing to appreciate.
Does anyone else think that Wes is EXACTLY like Max Fischer in this?
Perhaps Max was written as an exaggeration of Wes Anderson?
