China is set to make one if its biggest overseas investments, in the west African nation of Liberia. It’s promising to spend .6bn developing an iron ore mine. It’s hoped the project will create 3000 jobs in a country struggling to recover from years of war. Dan Nolan reports from the mine site, about 150 kilometres north of the capital, Monrovia.

Marck224: Well, I guess we finally agree! Your belief is that your country does not need the US……….GOOD! I want the US to have nothing to do with Liberia or any other black country. The USA should not allow any more blacks in, we have enough, too many actually. China will help make something out of your country, something the natives could never do. Be nice to those Chinese, they are doing you people a big favor. Ciao!

@MARCK224: What does the USA’s national debt have to do with blacks being savages? I know that lots of areas in Africa have massive amounts of natural resources, more for the blacks to get cheated out of, or squander. A lot of the USA’s national debt is from all of the welfare we pay to blacks. The Current debt is 14 trillion.

@tickyul a country of 3.5million people with more land than they need. Our natural Resources value is worth more than US$10trillion dollars. Thats why we are seeking partnership with China and other rising powers the will help us move foward why becoming a manufacturing nation rather than just raw material exporting. We don’t need the US. get it? The US is forcing her self on Liberia. China is willing to help us and give us access to her market of 1.7billion people. That is what Liberia needs

@tickyul I think thats a very poor point to based your argument don’t you think? aren’t there blacks in the US? weren’t the blacks the same very people who built this modern nation call the United States of America? and to a point, who do you think is to be bleamed for the situation Liberia is faced with today for which you are overtly giving cheers for it’s deteriorated state?

@marck224: My reason for not wanting Haitians coming is because they are BLACK, and as we all can very clearly see, BLACKS ARE A VERY POOR FIT FOR MODERN SOCIETIES. Liberia would be a better fit for these people, open sewers running thru neighborhoods. Cheers!

  6. marck224 on Fri, 5th Feb 2010 5:01 pm

@tickyul why do you want the Haitians to be ship to Liberia instead of the US? is there any valid reason? Liberia has enougth to contend with right now plus it has to reintigrate more than 400,000 of her citizens returning as a result of the 24yrs of civil war. Also, I must add that all of the countries that supported the bloody civil war that destroyed my country will pay dearly. The time is coming when God Him self will grant justice to the innocent blood that cry from beneath the ground….

Holy Moly, this kinda reminds me of videos I saw of Detroit. I hope that they ship the Haitian Refugees over to Liberia, instead of the USA. Open sewage running thru your town, good job Liberian African Americans. Is there any argument from ANYONE that blacks cannot successfully run any country.

I understand your feelings. Please understand we as people will never move forward if we are always stuck in the past. Not all white people are to blame for slavery and the issue needs to be gone. If you recall a white man saw the ignorance and set the free.

    Move forward not backwards :)

Aye XXwicked how are you doing? I just went to your page and saw that you’re from Zimbabwe which is great. It’s is another African country that has gone through a lot like Liberia though it’s not as a result of war. We’ve been through a lot you know. Imagine you welcomed your once inslaved African brothers that were sold to the white man to come home and joined you built a beautiful nation that your both could live and call home. They come but they do the opposite. Inslaved you for 150yrs. Sad!

I hope so. Not only Liberians but Africans in general have suffered for too long. If your country, or even continent want to become powerful, it s not by war, it is becoming sustainable and not relying on imported goods. If you could create sustainable energy, food, transportation. Remember population is a factor when it comes to surviving and African’s need to keep their population rate down in order to succeed.

Sacrifice is the key to open doors of success.

    I wish you peace

You could not have said it more better XXwicked. Thanks and by the help of God, Liberia will rise and recleam her possition as the Leone star of Africa. With natural resources of Iron Ore, Gold, Diamonds, Platinum, Palladum, Uranium, Nickle, Buxite, Maganese, Copper, Colbert, Tin, Zinc, Timber, Rubber, Oil, Agriculture, Fishery, Tourism, etc, and a population of just 3.5million people, I don’t see why we can’t. With God on our side, Liberia is bound to rise again. God Bless Liberia.

  12. marck224 on Fri, 5th Feb 2010 5:01 pm

@youareajack..I think you made a valid point that can not be ignored. However, where Liberia is today is because of the US. The war they supported that killed close to 250,000 Liberians cost us a lot. It destroyed our economy, education, healthcare, infrastructure, and security. Now that the war is over, who do you think Liberia should work with between the two-US and China considering our past and mistakes we’ve made? China to an extend eventhough we have to be mindful of their intentions.

  13. youareajackass2005 on Fri, 5th Feb 2010 5:01 pm

No foreign country is good. Sorry if Im talk the obvious. I think the only reason the Chinese are in Liberia is because they badly want the raw materials. For those who support China think about what happens the Chinese would do if Liberia ran out of materials. They would just leave and everything is going to be same way. The chinese are only there for self interest and so is every other country. The only way to change is from within. Currpt gov. will take every thing and poor will still be poor

  14. XXwickedwayXX on Fri, 5th Feb 2010 5:01 pm

I wish you and your country the best of luck. Liberia deserves peace and prosperity, but China? If you knew anything about economics, China is going to fall hard.

  15. marck224 on Fri, 5th Feb 2010 5:01 pm

Great points raidanbeeotch. Your are right and I think it’s in this regard that our government has decided to be very carefull as to who it allows in our country to invest. We’ve managed to renegotiate two contracts, the Firestone that has exploited us for over 86yrs and Mittal Steel that was about to the same. Firestone owed us up to US$70billion dollars+ raidanbeeotch. And we need that money. This only shows why we were forced to sign that contract in 1926 by the US. They owe us and will pay!

  16. marck224 on Fri, 5th Feb 2010 5:01 pm

That’s ok raidanbeeotch I understand.. I just pray that God helps us all to love each other and keep us united so that what happend to us 24yrs ago and cost us so much will not be repeated. Happy new year! as we always sing in Liberia “happy nu year me no die ooo… happy nu year me no die ooo… ha.. ha.. me no die ooo….GOD BLESS LIBERIA!

  17. marck224 on Fri, 5th Feb 2010 5:01 pm

@tickyul are you sure of what you are saying? what is the US current debt sr? what is the value of your dam currency? do you have any natural resource to back the dam dollar and pay of your US$25trillion+ debt? your dam Congress sent a team of five to Liberia 2009 to tell our government that the US needs Liberia. That the US doesn’t want to exploit our natural resources but rather partner with us to develop them. I sense a tune of change! But, my first respond was get the hell out of LIBERIA!

  18. tickyul on Fri, 5th Feb 2010 5:01 pm

@marck224: Well, I predict that your country will remain a craphole…..for quite some time to come. Maybe you can take some of our sava…..er, African Americans into your country, they would fit right in. We have a city called Detroit, which is one of many run by blacks. Detroit and most black cities probably resemble a lot of Liberian cities, true crapholes. So, If you take some of our blacks, they should fit right in. Ciao!

  19. marck224 on Fri, 5th Feb 2010 5:01 pm

We will defininately encourage investments in our country. But don’t get me wrong, we wount just allow just any investors this time, but rather true investors who are partners and have what it takes to bring needed change and effect massive developments. And thoes kinds of investors are not Western but rather Chinese, Russians, South Americans Middle Easterns and other Africans. We want investors who come from nations that have the technology, money, and can put the West into Recession any day!

  20. tickyul on Fri, 5th Feb 2010 5:01 pm

@marck224: Yes, companies want to get to your resources. That is not a tribute to the people of Liberia, it is a tribute to god’s creation. Your leadership should encourage investment to come in, the non blacks may help elevate the low IQ black populations standard of living.

  21. marck224 on Fri, 5th Feb 2010 5:01 pm

@tickyul you claimed that my country is doomed but yet US investors are fighting to get in at the same time trying to compete with China. We didn’t even ask your government for money but yet the US is throwing hundred of millions at our country to aid our redevelopment. A country of 3.5million people with natural resources so much has attracted more than US$15billion dollars in investments and more are to come pulling in. We have about 500,000+ direct well pay jobs line up plus more to follow.

  22. tickyul on Fri, 5th Feb 2010 5:01 pm

@marck224: Uh, so firestone owes Liberia money, and you want who to pay it to Liberia, the USA? Blame everyone for Liberia’s crappy condition, except the savages who call the place home. Liberia is a doomed country. Cheers!

  23. marck224 on Fri, 5th Feb 2010 5:01 pm

Have you ever tought about why your dam Firestone Company is still in Liberia since 1926 up til now? 86yrs of exploiting my country and still not enougth. Firestone owed us US$69billion in taxes from the past 86yrs. We want that money! pretty soon, it might have to consider going to another country where they will allow slavery and invest becuase we will kick Firestone out of Liberia and they will have to pay every ga dam cent they owed us from the past 86yrs. China is the best way for Liberia!

  24. marck224 on Fri, 5th Feb 2010 5:01 pm

Not the US fault you sure? who let Charlse Taylor out of prison? who provided the first US$10million dollars for Liberia invasion? why isn’t he being trial for Liberia war crimes instead he’s being trial for crimes they alleged he commited in Sierra Leone? is it because he will expose the US from beginning to end in Liberia 24yrs civil war? why can’t you guys get the hell from behind my country? why out of a sudden, the US is giving Liberia so much money? we don’t need your dam money keep it!!

  25. tickyul on Fri, 5th Feb 2010 5:01 pm

@marck224: Uh, yeah we have blacks in the USA, they are not what I would call an ASSET, if you get my drift. And if you mean to imply that blacks were the genius behind the USA, you are out of your mind. They provided unskilled slave labor, that is it. I don’t like to see anyone suffer, but Liberia is what it is, a failed black state. Not the USA’s fault. Ciao!
