Of course there are still schools in the US who are as behind as the other countries when it comes to accommodating and modifying education to cater to student with disabilities and those who are in ESOL programs…. but for the most part US is ahead of the game when it comes to educating EVERYONE. Case in point a technology convention in Italy last year, not one constituent at that convention talked about assistive technology (AT) or anything about helping people with disabilities.

Sorry about the long posts. Being an ESE teacher, I’m an advocate for people with disabilities and people who are new arrivals of this country, USA. Someone has to speak out for those who need the most help and I get upset when they’re not mentioned or get forgotten, because we should be a nation of leaving no one behind and *sorry for quoting a cartoon character* doing what is good for the whole colony.

More of the same from Obama who has failed time and again to make good on his promises. President Obama has now been in office for more than a year and we now have an unemployment rate of almost 11 percent. Instead of working on real solutions that will help put people back to work, this Democrat Congress and Administration have used the economic downturn as an excuse to blow billions of taxpayer dollars on policies that are burying our kids and grandkids under mountains of debt.

The problem I have with the education system of other countries is that a majority of them (not all) have very poor policies and rules to educating students with disabilities. There is a reason why the US is low on test scores. WE COUNT EVERYONE. Not just the really smart ones or the ones who were raised in the country their whole life. It’s the one thing that is positive about the US compared to others, we get students with disabilities and those who are ESOL to participate.

Yes, the problem is the kids… but why do you think that is? The problem BEHIND the kids is a mixture of our culture and a flawed education system. We should learn from countries like Finland.

The problem is not the education system it’s the kids.We all know the saying’you can lead a horse to water but you can’t make it drink.Money to schools will not solve the problem,all that will happen is you will have new stuff getting torn up or not used.Giving teachers more money will not change anything they know the salary going in an most don’t mind.The problem is the students I know because I was a problem student.Kids now are worse than I was,they want something for nothing ;no work ethic.

Please start teaching Systems Thinking beginning in Elementary School to help remedy the plague of Short-sighted Binary Thinking that has ruined America. If we teach people about the interconnectedness of all parts of any system, it is much easier to create solutions with fewer unintended consequenses. The Sheeple must regain their Wildness if we are to progress, mindless obedience is what made this mess.
